Product Description:The LS-365C is a five-section tripod that is only available as part of this package in Europe. It's built to Leofoto's exacting standards, with Toray ten-layer, cross-rhombus structure carbon-fibre legs and twist-grip locks that provide excellent stability while remaining smooth and decisive in use. Because there is no center column, the folded-down tripod has a low profile, allowing for quick and easy low-camera settings. Because the tripod is five-sectioned, it collapses to just 48cm (49cm with the provided spiked feet) without a head. The head mounting plate is 1.52m from the ground when fully extended and the legs are at their default angle, which is enough height extension for most users. A hard twist of the tripod shoulder at full length revealed very little flex, which is impressive. The same plate is barely 8cm off the ground when the legs are stretched out at the other extreme.
The PG-1 includes two locking knobs, so utilizing them with gloved hands is no problem. The one at 12 o'clock keeps the tilt locked, while the other keeps the rotation locked. If you prefer a vertical or horizontal pan, you can leave both locks unlocked for unfettered movement in either direction. The third lock allows you to modify the camera height within a 10cm range.
The Canon EOS R6/800mm f/11, Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II/300mm f/4, and Fujifilm X-S10/100-400mm were among the camera/lens combos I tried. A Vanguard Veo HD 80A spotting scope was also used. They all did an excellent job, with a smooth, fluid movement and excellent steadiness. I didn't have a pro DSLR with a 600mm or 800mm lens on hand, but thanks to the PG-1's 25kg load rating, I don't think a heavier combination would be an issue.
